Section
Three: Members
1. Active Membership
Participation in TGi is required. Activity involves more than just playing
the online games that TGi is involved in, and visiting the TGi forums
once every few weeks. Attending meetings, keeping in contact with TGi
members, particpating at the TGi forums, and numerous other activites
characterize what it means to be an active member of TGi. To be considered
an active member, you must be in contact with other members by: posting,
e-mails and/or instant messaging at least every two weeks.
If a longer period of time away is foreseen, be sure the council is informed.
This will insure a smoother running, and more functional PA. The council
ultimately has the power to remove someone from the roster due to inactivity.
2. Member Conduct
All agree to not use The Galactic Irregulars forums or chat to:
1. Infringe on the rights of any member or people visiting these boards,
and/or attempt to hamper the ridiculous fun that they are having.
2a. Upload, post, or otherwise transmit any content that (a) is threatening,
abusive, invasive of another's privacy, or just down right mean, and
(b) is the private information of another member such as their e-mail
addresses, ICQ number, MSN Messenger handle, or Yahoo handle without
prior permission
2b. You may, however, post other members' measurements.
3. Impersonate any person within the PA roster, council and member alike,
unless it is to exploit a strong personality trait, or otherwise aid
in maintaining their ego at a standable level.
If you do use these boards to commit any of the above, the council may
patronize you for not being very nice, allow Bitashe to whip you incessantly,
and/or have to follow through with the termination process.
3. Modifications
to the Constitution
All members are responsible for staying up to date on these rules, and
will be held accountable by them once they are enacted. If any questions
or concerns exist due to a recent modification, post it in the Serious
General forum, or address it directly to one of the councilors. It will
be discussed with all due haste, and responded to upon completion.
4. Member Voting
Member voting will be handled with the same rules and procdures as council
voting (see Section Four). Voting is mandatory.
Section
Four: Council
1. Llicense Granted
to the Council
The council holds the right to modify and/or erase any content you post/upload/contribute
to our boards, for the purpose of maintaint an enjoyable atmosphere able
to be viewed by anyone. However, the council will only remove a thread
as a last resort.
2. Council Voting
There must be 5 council members present in a meeting to legally vote
on most issues. If a vote is enacted, the tallied result, along with
the meeting minutes, will be forwarded to the council members not present.
In the event that there is not a quorum, the issue will be discussed
ot the full extent possible, and then posted with a poll on the Council
forum. The poll will remain open for three days. During this time period,
councilors can freely discuss their views and state their arguments for
or against. If there is significant reason for extending the time period,
a motion for an extension can be made, and then voted on. If passed,
a further three days shall be given for the poll. If rejected the poll
will close as normal. Only one extension can be given per issue.
Once all councilors have cast their vote the poll can close early.
In the event that a poll closes and not all of the council has voted,
the tally will stand as it is. The missing councilors will be asked to
explain their absence and post it on the Council forum. The remaining
council members will will then debate on whether the resulting answer
was a legitimate reason. If deemed unworthy, the council member will
regretfully have to be warned not to miss another vote. If the councilor
is absent a second time, actions will have to be taken (see Section Five).
In the case of yes/no polls, 75% of the participating members must vote "yes",
otherwise the poll will be considered "no". For polls containing
three or more options, a simple majority is required for results.
In the event that the votes are even, all council members will be informed
of the tie, and another poll shall be created. It will be created following
the same procedure as above, with the exception that no extensions can
be given.
